Google IMAP settings

Looking to get your Gmail on your mobile device? The settings below are what you need to setup the account. Setup varies depending on your device, provider and what apps you have available or want to use, If you have/want to use the Gmail app all you need to do is setup a new account (option is usually under settings)  enter your username and password then choose what Google product you want to sync to your device. Typically all you need are gmail and possibly the calendar of you want. The steps that walk you though it are pretty easy.

If you don't have a Gmail app or want to use a different one the manual setting are listed. You still need to add a new account (option may be listed  under settings) from there follow the steps entering the info below:

Incoming

Type: IMAP

Server name: imap.gmail.com

Port: 993

Needs Authentication

Authentication type: SSL and/or TLS (may require some trial and error)

Username: your Gmail username

Password: your Gmail password

Outgoing (SMTP)

Server Name: smtp.gmail.com

Port: 465

Needs Authentication

Authentication type: SSL and/or TLS (will be same a the incoming setting)

Username: your Gmail username

Password: your Gmail password

Non-Google email apps may be email only, if you want to load your calendar you may have to use another app.
