Taking a picture of what is displayed on your computer screens is easy and quick, no cell phone camera needed. There are 2 main ways to to this, first is the old PrtScn or Print Screen button on your keyboard the other is the Snipping Tool that became available in Windows 7.

PrtScr
Hitting this button on your keyboard will take a copy of what is displayed in your monitor(s) and save it to the system clipboard. From there you can open any program that allows picture editing or the inserting of images and paste in the picture of your display. It's quick and simple with 1 drawback, it takes a copy of your ENTIRE desktop. That means if you have more then one monitor all of that real estate is going to be copied. You may want that but odds are you probably don't. You can always crop the image down to what you want.

Snipping Tool
This simple program allows you to select an area of your desktop to save as a image. After you open the program your display will have a white screen over it, from there you place a box around what you want to keep. After that you can save your capture as an image file. This will also save a cp[t of your image to the system clipboard to you can paste it to any program. There is even a simple markup tool you can use before you save the file.
